Leukerbad as the centre for day trips

There is plenty to do in Leukerbad. We pretend that using the Swiss train system, you do not need a car when coming to Leukerbad. Just make sure, that you get your Swiss Card at the airport. But obviously self-drive is an option. You can also rent a car at Geneva or Zürich airport.

In winter the question is not often asked: What can we do? Ski, cross-country-ski, curling, skating, hiking, bathing, massages and so on... In summer this is slightly different.

You are in the middle of the Alps. Since you have come so far, why not visit one or two special places. Ask for a time table at reception.

Watch the Met report on Swiss TV (just before 8 PM). Leave only in good weather, early by bus or car. Leukerbad - Susten - Visp - Täsch - Zermatt (Only train between Täsch - Zermatt). Walk around Zermatt or take a train to the Gornergrat.

Take the bus to Susten. Train to Montreux. Boat Montreux - Lausanne. Visit Ouchy and the Olympic museum. Back by train and bus.

Spiez-Interlaken-Jungfraujoch (Top of Switzerland). Go only in good weather and leave early.

Take the bus to Susten. Train to Martigny - Chamonix. If you are courageous take a ride by cable car to Aiguilles du Midi.

Take the bus to Susten. Train to Sierre and bus from Sierre to Montana.
