Set in spectacular surroundings under high mountain peaks Leukerbad remains very much undiscovered by the majority of people, jst as it was until the Romans came.

In summer, the mountain air is clear and clean with just hat hint of freshness to make you want to walk, explore the more than 100 kilometers of trails while absorbing the breathtaking views. Experience the serenity, peace and calm that comes from gazing down the valley and seeing people and cars as little dots in the distance, whilst you take in the alpine climate.

When you have had enough of all this exercise relax in one of the twenty-two indoor and outdoor pools and enjoy some of the three million liters of 51°C water flowing daily from the ground. These healing thermal waters wash away all of the cares of normal daily life leaving you feeling calm and carefree to carry on enjoying your holiday break.

There is as well a large playground and a mini-golf near the sports arena. There is horse riding as well. If your children are too small for a fours hour walk, you simply leave them at the municipal Kindergarden for the day.

In summer, sit outside on a restaurant balcony, taking the air and a refreshing drink with your lunch or dinner. With fifty restaurants to choose from, the most diverse and discerning of palates will be satisfied.

The program of sports and leisure activities of the sports center of Leukerbad is extremely varied, combined with the thermal activities and the excellent infrastructure of the place, it becomes matchless! That you look for a training center in the multiple possibilities or that you simply want to spend sports holidays: the sports center built in 1990 will satisfy all your needs and all your expectations! Leukerbad being situated in height (1 411 m), you will find ideal conditions of training there and you can take advantage of positive effects of the heights. It is possible to follow a training in height step by step, the reaching last one 2.400 m. The extremely modern sports installations will allow you to target your training as well at the level train physics that at the technical level.

You will find the following installations:

• Ice rink (hockey and skating and curling) with a spectator stand for 450 persons. Training on ice from July to April (summer ice). The original dimensions of the field are 60 / 30 meters. The outdoor ice rink is open in January and February.
• 3 indoor tennis courts for training sessions and tournaments. In summer the traditional tennis camps for young people are coached by Janos Lindenberg.
• The indoor facility has 5 curling rinks. Tournaments are organized for visitors in winter, and the great summer curling tournament takes place in summer (July).
• 1 spinning room with 12 bikes. Experienced spinning instructors offer classes for groups of 5 or more, as well as for the different sports teams training in the sports arena.
• 6 changing rooms for teams with showers
• Theory rooms with presentation aids for 30 persons and for 60 persons
• 1 football field (April to November), dimensions 90/50 with floodlight and artificial turf
• Track and field facility (April to November) with athletics track, high and long jump pits, and shot-putting circle
• Multi-use hall 44 / 29 meters for different ball games and coordination exercises
• Double sports hall 2x14x24 m with a pull-out spectator stand for 450 persons
• 1 squash court
• 1x outdoor rock-climbing wall
• 1x 18-hole mini-golf course
• 1 track & field facility
• 1 artificial turf football field

Even if it has been practiced from the dawn of mankind, this sport has lost none of its appeal or popularity. We are talking about hiking. And although you hardly see any hikers with red stockings and knee breeches anymore, this sport is seeing a true revival, especially because trekking has become very popular and the invention of themed trails. Leukerbad has more than 200 km of hiking trails.

18 sign-posted bike routes await you at Leukerbad. Whether you have your bike transported up the mountain on the cable car and then enjoy riding it down, or whether you use pure muscle power on the route of your choice: We wish you a pleasant ride!

5 easy routes (blue signposts), 9 medium routes (red signposts) and 4 difficult routes (black signposts) take you from the spa resort to the neighboring Alps and down to the Rhone valley. The easy routes are also suitable for beginners.

After all, a soothing thermal bath is perfect for relaxing after a day of vigorous exercise and guarantees that you won't suffer from stiff muscles the next day.
